Dede was born in Jakarta, 14 September 1966. Dede Yusuf was the second child of the couple (late) Ir. Tammy and Rahayu Effendi Effendi. His brother is Bob Soelaiman Effendi. Dede's late father worked as Director at Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM) Jakarta. While His mother was a dancer at the Bogor Palace and the Garuda flight attendant turned-movie star in early 1965. In West Java Governor Election Period 2013-2018, Dede Yusuf run again, but as a candidate for Governor of West Java with Lex Lakshman as his deputy.
